The All Blacks will play just their fifth official test match against the USA on Sunday (8.30am kickoff NZT) as they open their northern tour in Washington DC.

The vastly inexperienced 20-year-old lock has been named in the reserves by All Blacks head coach Ian Foster for the opening match of New Zealand’s end-of-year tour at FedEx Field on Sunday [NZ time].

The match is on at Washington DC on Saturday at 7:35pm.

It’s on RTÉ 1 from 7pm and on Premier Sports 2 from 7:25pm.

The Washington DC area, with a population of around 700,000, has been averaging around 101 cases a day (a 37 per cent decrease on a fortnight ago) and has had seven deaths over the last two weeks. In total the district has had 62,976 Covid cases and 1183 deaths, while the national US figure is 45.9 million cases and more than 745,000 deaths.

In comparison New Zealand has had 4696 confirmed cases since the pandemic broke out and 28 deaths.
