RLWC Ireland face to game against New Zealand Kiwis on Friday .

RLWC 2022 : Ireland are set to be without front-row forwards Liam Byrne and Jaimin Jolliffe for Friday’s World Cup Group C match against New Zealand at Headingley because of suspension. Ireland still hope to have prop Jaimin Jollife available for their crunch group game against New Zealand on Friday.

Jollife has made a good impression on the World Cup so far, and losing him for a game Ged Corcoran’s side must win at Headingley on Friday to stand any chance of qualification will be a real blow. They will definitely be without fellow prop Liam Byrne, who has accepted a suspension of his own.

Byrne was given two one-match penalty notices for dangerous contact in the game against Lebanon. He has accepted both of those charges, and will miss both this Friday and a quarter-final, should Ireland upset the odds and make it through to the last eight of the tournament courtesy of victory over the Kiwis.

DWZ bags four as Kiwis beat Jamaica

NZ Kiwis have lived up to their world No.1 ranking, overwhelming newcomers Jamaica 68-6 to progress to the Rugby League World Cup quarter-finals with another pool game still to come.

Winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak had an early hat-trick of tries, then added another in the second half, before hobbling off the field with cramp, while the dummy-half duo of Jeremy Marshall-King and Brandon Smith grabbed two apiece.

But the tournament debutants embarrassed their highly touted opponents with their kickoffs, repeatedly regaining possession with tactics that more accomplished teams are sure to adopt against New Zealand, as they enter the business end of the rlwc draw.
