The Blues defeated Moana Pasifika 47-8 dominating the battle for Auckland. The Blues were playing as the “away team” at Eden Park, which presented a new challenge, but they seemed at ease as they destroyed Tana Umaga’s team.
The assault commenced in the twelfth minute when flyhalf Stephen Perofeta easily crossed the line after winger Mark Tele’a crossed through some slack defending.

After Hoskins Sotutu broke the line for the Blues’ third try of the afternoon, Caleb Clarke dashed off, continuing the momentum. The hosts had no response to Bryce Heem’s powerful attack, which resulted in three tries in twelve minutes.
Moana had some optimism when Sione Havili Talitui scored just before halftime, but the Blues took the lead early in the second half.
Before Tele’a scored his second, it began in the 58th minute when scrum half Finlay Christie supported a good attack by Cole Forbes.
